ID: 16024
Alt. Name: All Hollows Farm, Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, CA
Building History: Hollywood actor/director/producer Hugh Ryan "Jack" Conway (1887-1952) and his wife, the movie star Virginia Conway (b. 1906), owned this estate in the Pacific Palisades section of Los Angeles, CA. Jack Conway had been working around Hollywood for a long time, starring as an actor in Her Indian Hero (1912), an early silent film. Virginia Conway was part of the Bushman clan, long-time Hollywood people. She was the daughter of actor Francis X. Bushman (1883–1966) and was niece of the art director, Bruce Bushman (1911–1972). At All Hollows Farm, Jack and Virginia raised two sons on the farm. Following Jack Conway's death, Debbie Reynolds, the "it" girl of the early 1950s, and her husband, singer Eddie Fisher, bought the property. The Los Angeles Unified School District later bought the land subsequently by eminent domain to use for a school.
