Building History: Opening 09/13/1930, the Fox Wilshire Theatre was one of the flagships of the Fox West Coast chain, hosting a number of important movie premieres; Fox operated a number of venues in prestigious Beverly Hills, including the Fox Carthay Circle Theatre (another favorite spot for premieres), the Regina (later the Fine Arts), and the Fox Beverly; the Mann Theatre chain operated the Wilshire Theatre in the late 1970s, before its closure as cinema; actor/director John Cassavetes operated an office at the Fox Wilshire Building; the Nederlander Organization books Broadway shows at the Wilshire as of 2004.
