Abstract: Ruckelshaus will discuss the challenges facing Puget Sound ecosystems, including threatened/endangered species, population growth, water pollution, eutrophication, and the effects of climate change. He will make the point that our health and the health of Puget Sound go together. Successful restoration efforts depend upon: 1. Coordinated effort by governments. 2. Economic and environmental harmony. 3. Mutual accountability. Finally, he will summarize solutions.
