Author: Wei Zhao (zhaow14@uw.edu), June, 2017 This repository stores the data for the paper: The Diurnal Cycle of Clouds and Precipitation at the ARM SGP Site: Cloud Radar Observations and Simulations from the Multiscale Modeling Framework Below are descriptions of what each file is about and how to use it: --climatology_diurnal_cycle_large_scale_forcing.mat Can be easily accessed by matlab (load) or python (scipy.io.loadmat) Diurnal composites of large scale forcing variables simulated by the Multiscale Modelling Framework. Used to produce Figure 7 (relative humidity) in the main manuscript and Figure S5 in the supplemental materials --climatology_diurnal_cycle_surface.mat Diurnal composites of surface variables simulated by the Multiscale Modelling Framework. Used to produce Figure S3 and S4 in the supplemental materials --diurnal_cycle_all_annual.mat Annual diurnal composites of the occurrences of clouds, drizzle and light precipitation, heavy precipitation and all the hydrometeors. The upperbound and lowerbound of each profile gotten from the moving-bootstrap method are also included. Used to generate Figures 5 & S1 --diurnal_cycle_all_seasonal.mat Seasonal diurnal composites of the occurrences of clouds, drizzle and light precipitation, heavy precipitation and all the hydrometeors. The upperbound and lowerbound of each profile gotten from the moving-bootstrap method are also included. Used to generate Figures 6 & S2 —-radar_simulator_data.tar.gz Outputs from the radar simulator by feeding simulations from the MMF
