Supporting data for Sokol, A.B. and Hartmann, D.L. (2020): "Tropical Anvil Clouds: Radiative Driving Towards a Preferred State" Author of this document: Adam B. Sokol (abs66@uw.edu) Date: May 13, 2020 ----------- This archive contains data used in Sokol & Hartmann (2020). There are four data files, with each corresponding to a specific study region (West Pacific or Indian Ocean) and time of day (13:30 or 01:30 local time A-train equatorial overpass). All statistics, radiative heating rates, and other quantities are composited by anvil optical depth (tau). A detailed description of each variable in the dataset is located within that variables attributes. The data in these files are derived from the satellite datasets and radiative heating model described in Sokol & Hartmann (2020) using the methods described therein.
