Abstract: Salinivibrio costicola is demonstrated to potentially work as a proxy for salinity. Salinity increases in lakes during dry periods, so finding an organism in which salinity changes can be tracked will help track climate change. In Salinivibrio costicola, lipid measurements correlate with sodium measurements.
