Four stressors-temperature, Eh or oxidation/reduction potential, salinity and turbidity were correlated with the community density and species compositions in the plumes. Crustaceans were noted where temperature was high and Eh levels low. Sponges and hydroids were found at lower temperatures and higher Eh levels.
