I used Indigenous curation methods to show that Indigenous and Western curation can be used in the same spaces and there isn’t a right or wrong way. While there is no firm definition of Indigenous Curation Methods, a lot of the ways are about collaboration, storytelling, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing. Each of these components played a huge part in the creation of the art show, titled “Identity, Resistance, and Resilience.” The three artists I selected tell a cohesive story of reclaiming space within a contemporary Western society. Each artist was tasked with selecting three or four artworks to tell their story. My goal of the exhibition was to tell a story of resilience that proves Indigenous artist’s experiences should not only be represented but celebrated.CC BY-NC-NDIndigenous Curation in White Spaces
