The starting point is the Middle Ages in Iberia, when Alfonso X was in power, this is because from that time frame there are texts from which there is a reference linked to the construction of race. That ideology comes to America in the baggage of the conquistadores and it gets mixed with local ideas. In Colonial America, those ideas get visually reflected in The Caste Paintings from the XIII Century. This literary analysis focuses on three bricks that construct the ideology of race and its negative consequences of exclusion: lineage/blood, women's role, and The Church's authority. El punto de partida es la Era Medieval en Iberia, cuando Alfonso X reinaba, porque desde ese tiempo existen textos de los cuales se puede referir en relación a la construcción de raza.
