Because of this, dissolved nutrient levels were studied in three Galàpagos Island bays (Academy Bay, Turtle Bay, and Wreck Bay) adjacent to the largest population centers and in one bay with no adjacent inhabitants (Cartago Bay), to characterize water quality within each bay.
