To print working parts effectively there are many factors that amateur printers, students, and/or hobbyists do not consider. These factors are outlined here in three categories of common novice printing failures which include design flaws in the part, material/manufacture for the chosen application, and factors that can be fine-tuned and controlled during the manufacturing process.
