   <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">This paper focuses on the application of the "digital landscape" in the design of memorial spaces. The framework of the thesis includes three aspects. First, it explores the definition of traditional public memorials, and their implementation techniques, systems, and materials; A second investigation seeks to understand the role of environmental psychology in memorials and the impact of digital interaction on mental health. The third foci is the interpretation of using HCI as a tool in designing digital landscapes. The site chosen for this thesis is in Beichuan, China, wherein 2008 an earthquake took many children’s lives. This narrative includes a review of Chinese traditional memorial culture and the role of modern technology in computer science. The design will contribute to the field of the digital landscape and thanato-sensitive designs (TSD) in the HCI field.</dim:field>
