Abstract

This project's goal was to develop an online resource guide that features museological practices for living history organizations. This could enhance the community engagement and programming for those organizations. To accomplish the goals of this project, a multifaceted approach to museological research was required. In order to compile the most useful information into articles for the resource guide, a front-end informal evaluation was conducted. This was done by reaching out to the living history community at large via a voluntary online survey. The results of this survey helped to guide content creation by prioritizing what living history communities want to learn from the museology field. Numerous museological resources for living history museums proved to be essential in creating content for the resource guide. Additionally, museological works regarding pop-up museums, exhibit design, grant writing, and numerous other topics were also consulted while writing articles for the resource guide.
