| dc.description.abstract | DECAY was an exhibition of fifteen works by 14 artists displayed at the Vestibule, a contemporary Seattle art gallery. The show explored the theme of decay as a force for positive, personal, internal change through four sections and included a curatorial reflection that presented questions meant to encourage further thought in viewers. As contemporary art can be highly thematic and/or conceptual, viewers without experience in this area can feel alienated and intimidated in contemporary art spaces. DECAY aimed to present contemporary artworks in such a way as to demystify a genre of art that is often considered difficult for the lay-person to interpret without a background in the subject. | |
