The Content and Authorship of the Historia Turchesca

Abstract

On the basis of two passages in the Historica Turchesca, where Angiolello seems to be quoting his own words, this work has often been ascribed to him. Although he is extensively quoted by the actual (and unknown) author, he is not himself the author and probably had nothing to do with the creation of the Historica Turchesca.
