First words on track: [Linguist]: "Tape 57 Side A. Brent Galloway interviewing Victor Underwood. June 19th, 1985. On the Tsawout reserve, East Saanich, British Columbia. Victor is speaking the Samish dialect of Straits Salish. We're concluding the word-by-word analysis of Victor's story of Ko-Kwal-alwoot, The Maiden of Deception Pass as told on tape #1 by Victor. At the end of this tape-we're about two-thirds of the way through-we begin a word-by-word analysis of Tommy Bob's 1952 Speech for Leon Metcalf on his tape #20. That tape is copied on tape #59 of this series." On CD Case: "Tape 57 - Side A."
