This paper uses statistical data reporting economic and social indicators in Primorsky Krai and the city of Vladivostok to assess the potential success of the 2012 Russian federal investments to the region in anticipation of the 2012 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference. This paper concludes that although the investments may have short term benefits, sustained long term economic growth will only be possible if extensive economic reforms are taken to ease entry into the local markets.en_US
