Abstract

Palmer will provide an initial framework for the inevitable debate over the threat posed by climate change on salmon recovery plans. He will outline the paths of impacts, including stream temperature, low flows, peak flows, sediment transport, and other habitat impacts. He will conclude that restoration efforts offset climate impacts. However, he will warn that planning without climate change may result in an overly optimistic estimate of benefits.
