| dc.description.abstract | Chapter 1 describes the stereospecific synthesis of E-alkenes through a dual copper and nickel catalysis system involving terminal alkynes and primary and secondary alkyl iodides. This reaction proceeds with excellent anti-Markovnikov and diastereoselectivity and is compatible with a wide range of functional groups. This hydroalkylation reaction allows easy access to a variety of E-alkenes from simple and readily available alkyne precursors. | |
