Hinckley will discuss the role of trees and forests in the hydrologic cycle. He will consider three unique aspects: hydraulic redistribution, forest structure and hydrological modifications, and night-time transpiration. He will look at the factors that limit the height of trees, presenting relevant studies that demonstrate these points. Finally, he will consider the impact of climate change on the life cycle of trees.en_US
