| dc.description.abstract | My research project explores the incarceration of Japanese Peruvians and Japanese Latin Americans during World War II. Further, my paper looks at the fact that these individuals were then excluded from the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. The overarching questions explored in my research are: What are the consequences of taking a civil and constitutional rights framework when considering what are actually human rights abuses? How is it that Japanese Peruvians were excluded from the Civil Liberties act, and what are the consequences of that fact? | |
