The geological evolution of Rumble II West was characterized by bathymetric mapping and undersea photography. The volcano was compared to the Brothers volcano, also in the Kermadec Arc. The pattern of faults in Rumble II West differs from other geologic formations in the arc, and indicates that tectonic stresses may be altering the plates' structure.en_US
