This study is an effort to improve our understanding of how urban populations directly and indirectly impact salmon and other aquatic animals. The copepod Euchaeta elongate is a salmonid food source, and carbaryl, an insecticide, is present at low levels in Puget Sound. Samples of E. elongate were exposed to varying levels of carbaryl to determine at what level the chemical is toxic to the animal.en
