This study used multibeam sonar survey with a deep-towed camera system to produce the first detailed bathymetric maps of Rumble III. The first photographs of the Rumble III seafloor are also included in the paper. It is concluded that a major volcanic eruption occurred within the past two years. Evidence for an eruption comes from the documented presence of twelve different geological substrates.en_US
