Seasonal Changes in Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Biomass and Community Structure in Salmon Spawning Streams

Abstract

Honea will discuss the effect of salmon spawming on aquatic macroinvertebrate communities in streams. He will describe a study that aimed to determine if salmon spawning reaches support a greater biomass of aquatic macroinvertebrates, and to determine the pathway of salmon nutrients through the macroinvertebrate community. He will outline the contributions of this study to stream and fish management.
