Love & Courage: Historic Fiction

Abstract

The main section of Love & Courage is a collection of seventeen short fiction stories inspired by gravestone inscriptions found in Scotland, England, and Wales during independent research study abroad travels in 2013; and in Seattle, Washington during the winter of 2014. The stories are illustrated with collages created using photographs of historic sites. The second section describes sources of material inspiration, research, and invention. The last section is a general statement about poetics.
