Abstract
In August 2012, the Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS) published a review of the Puget Sound Partnership’s progress in developing the scientific basis for monitoring and assessing progress toward achieving a vibrant Puget Sound1. In September 2012, as part of the Professional Master of Geographic Information Systems (PMPGIS) program at the University of Washington, students began their second year with a quarter-long study of Coastal GIS. During the fifth week of the quarter, students read and discussed Sound Indicators: A Review for the Puget Sound Partnership, the WSAS recommendations to the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP).
