As human trafficking has become a global issue, many survivors of human trafficking are faced with a new challenge - navigating a world with the freedom to make their own choices. The definition of human trafficking has evolved to where it is more inclusive of victims’ unpleasant experiences. Once survivors are taken out of the hostile environment, survivors can seek out the help through organizations such as API Chaya to navigate the resources that are available to them. API Chaya and similar organizations develop programs to address the economic and political issues related to human trafficking such as outreach programs to educate the community. This capstone project identifies the barriers API Chaya faces and the strategies they are using to overcome them.en_US
