Shakespeare's King Lear in relation to The true chronicle history of King Leir

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show the relationship between Shakespeare's King Lear and the True Chronicle Hlstory of King Leir, an old play which was published as The True Chronicle History of King Lelr and His Three Daughters Gonorill, Ragan and Cordelia and was the source play for Shakespeare's version.
