The movement towards the Constitutional Convention, 1785-1787
Abstract
This thesis deals with the movement towards the Constitutional Convention of 1787. In order to understand the movement towards a constitutional convention it is necessary to know the views of the opposing political groups which existed at the time of and immediately prior to the Revolution. A knowledge of the conditlons out of which the parties developed is also necessary. In this study the names denoting the early political parties will be Conservative and Republican.
