dc.description.abstractThis study compared satellite and ship-based measurements of net primary productivity in the Northeast Pacific Ocean. In general, chlorophyll observations showed the greatest variance between the two sets of observations. Measuring NPP is of critical importance to determining how much carbon dioxide may be sequestered in the deep ocean, thus ameliorating the negative effects of climate change.en
