Abstract

Data is everywhere. The contemporary built environment is managed and influenced by data both visible and hidden. A wealth of information is now collected and stored from every aspect of our daily lives. Architects and designers are increasingly aware of the potential of data. It is now possible to collect and synthesize data to draw conclusions that allow one to make urban design and architectural decisions. This thesis proposes a development approach that uses data to design a mixed-use building in Seattle as a solution for increased density and population growth in the year 2050.
