dc.description.abstractUnderstanding the properties of zooplankton and their ecosystems is vital to fixing potential problems that may occur in the ecosystems. Over the years, iron fertilization has been thought to be the key to stop global warming; many studies have been done on the removal of carbon in the atmosphere by the phytoplankton in the oceans. Iron fertilization favors the larger phytoplankton at first. Since the Galapagos Islands have such diverse water compositions, they will allow us to examine long term effects of these naturally fertilized areas with naturally unfertilized areas.en
