Abstract
The digital divide emerged in the
late 1990s and early 2000s, and the world
woke to a reality that was once mystified
amongst the writings of sci-fiction novels.
Overnight, nations worldwide awakened to
the digital world's presences. The digital era
has revolutionized every aspect of our lives,
transforming the way we communicate,
work, and access information. It has created unprecedented opportunities for connectivity, efficiency, and
innovation, reshaping industries and driving societal advancements at an unprecedented pace. As progress
surges forward, the digital revolution casts a shadow in the form of the persistent digital divide. Despite
the wave of advancements, the balance remains skewed, highlighting the ongoing disparity in access to
technology and digital resources.
