The development of a music campus at Fort Lawton in Discovery Park with an adaptive re-use of eight historic military buildings and the construction of a new underground concert hall. This thesis will develop a program that would promote music education, support Seattle's music community and contribute to the city's cultural scene. Three preservation strategies are offered that would allow the re-use of the historic buildings within the setting of the parade ground open space; strategies that would support Discovery Park's primary function as a nature park, and would enrich it with the presence of music.en_US
