Abstract
This study analyses the influence of English in the Spanish of early bilinguals from Spain. Results show that there are different types of influences in the oral language of these early bilinguals. The most common influences found were lexical, and included both borrowings and calques. These usually belonged to concepts in American culture. Differences were found between children whose parents were both from Spain and children with only one parent of Spanish origin. But no important differences were noticed between siblings. Finally, the communicative context and the speaker crucially affected the language choice of the participants.
