Abstract

Plankton are a major component in the marine ecosystem being the base of the marine food web. This study tries to study the relationship in the San Juan Channel of zooplanktons topdown control on phytoplankton as well as examining how different water properties effect the plankton abundances. North station showed a strong incidence of grazing having a large pheaopigment concentration ranging from 0.24 μg/L at the surface to 0.19 μg/L at 50 m depth. This was followed by a high concentration of solitary phytoplankton around 30.51%.
