the ultimate noodle times, overcooked even

Abstract

This document serves as a legible form to explain the process of arriving to this moment of graduate school and how I imagine moving forward. I will be discussing how I arrived to the site of the University of Washington and what I have produced in my time here. Through deeper research into access, space, queer time, and rituals this has helped to inform and act as a jumping off point for the works I have made and how my practice has been influenced. The research I have done has included the work of José Muñoz and Jack Halberstam, and modeled by Carolyn Lazard and Finnegan Shannon with how they approach some of these ideas as well. I will also be including aspects of my pedagogy from the classroom because these topics that influence my practice, are directly related to my approach to life which is also translated into the classroom. This form is intended to be experienced within the context of a zine, which are also hugely tied to my practice. The first zine I ever made was titled Noodle Times and this particular record serves as an ultimate version of my first zine. With the context of a zine, the pages within this document all contain fragments of works and remnants from pieces I’ve made over the past two years. There are only a few images of the actual work created and because my work is often installation, sculpture, video, and text, they all shift in different spaces so for this document it made sense for the experience to shift and leave behind the makings of the work.
