Education is central to creating social change. Addressing the topic of violence against women, the author designed a workshop intended for female youth. The workshop was implemented in two stages at a state “lock down” facility for youth, with positive response from the attendees. The author explores the pedagogical student-teacher relationship, her status as an outsider, and the effectiveness of workshop sessions in fostering social change. A series of future workshops is planned.en
