The continued rise in CO2 levels worldwide has attracted widespread concern among researchers. Carbonic anhydrase, a carbon dioxide hydratase widely found in nature, has extremely high catalytic activity in CO2 hydration. However, because it is difficult to extract and preserve and is easily inactivated, much effort has been put into artificially synthesizing it. Herein, we developed a series of peptoid-based metalcontaining nanosheets with natural carbonic anhydrase-like activities. We tested their catalytic activities under different conditions. The results showed that some of them have good catalytic activity and are promising candidates for artificial carbonic anhydrase mimics.
