Kreuzspiel, Louange à l'Éternité de Jésus, and Mashups:Three Analytical Essays on Music from the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries

Abstract

Three separate essays are presented. The first is an in-depth analysis of <italic>Kreuzspiel</italic> and its place within Stockhausen's <italic>oeuvre</italic>. The second considers the structure of Messiaen's <italic>Louange à l'Éternité de Jésus</italic> in terms of its harmonic interplay. The final essay investigates mashups through semiotic interpretations and formal analyses.
