This thesis explores coming-of-age, photography and animalization in El color del crepúsculo, Maquis and La noche inmóvil, the first three novels of the memory cycle of Alfons Cervera. My study focuses first on the childhood learning of the protagonist in El color del crepúsculo, especially in the role that nature and books play as a refuge for the imagination. In the second part, I explore the functions of photography in the three novels as a reminder of the past and as a transmitter of memory. Finally, in the third part, I study the animalization of the characters, specifically the guerilla fighters as foxes, in Maquis and La noche inmóvil.
