Fifties in America

Abstract

Join the UW Libraries as we explore 1955, a year of innovations in business, science, technology with new opportunities for entertainment, leisure, and recreation, all in the shadow of a horrific murder of a young Black boy and an expanding movement for racial equality. Time travel to 1955 via newspapers, advertisements, and artifacts of the year. Exhibit was held in the Allen Lobby in August and September, 2022.
