Joseph Anderson will begin with a brief history of efforts to colonize Chinook salmon, as well as some alternative hypotheses. Next, he will present a research project that examined the success of Chinook and coho salmon colonizing efforts in Washington State. He will consider: 1. Population productivity. 2. Individual reproductive success. A. Natural origin vs. hatchery Chinook salmon. B. Selection on breeding date in coho salmon.
